cliche as it may be

You are the reason to my rhyme.
You aren’t afraid to push back when I start to shove.
I do believe you can you teach an old dog new tricks.
I’m not afraid of the long road ahead.
And I don’t want to catch flies, be it with vinegar or honey.
Someone else can get the worm, I’m no early bird.
My heart won’t grow fonder, there’s no need for your leave of absence.
I’m not wearing sleeves; I have no ace to hide.
The cards are on the table, I’m no good at poker.
Can you hear my actions; I know my words are sometimes silent?
I hate doing laundry, but perhaps one day I can air mine with you.
Never been much in to gambling, though something tells me you’re a safe bet.
Bend me as you may, I was never in shape to begin with.
Be it love or be it war, I wish we could just play fair.
Break loose; let’s give ‘em hell.
The bright side can’t be found when you search in the dark.
I don’t need the cash, let’s take tomorrow and make it ours.
After a long day the most beautiful thing to look at is you.
These are near-sighted eyes, but I see what’s in front of me and the future is clear
I have a lot of balls, but not much can be done when they are in your court.
I hope you take the bite, but I’ll warn you, I’m a lot to chew.
