You could see her, her body was there, but her mind- it was in another place, in a different time. She had a soul that spanned the age of time. She never quite saw the world in the same way as others did. Colors of the rainbow coursed through her veins and beauty and art were ingrained in the very fibers of her being. Her soul sang a symphony of love and her movements spoke clearly of her relationship with time and space. Her mind was a sharp as a katana and as broad as the oceans, yet it seemed to always be in a million places at once. She was living poetry.
He was a storm, dark and tumultuous. He felt the chaos of the things he could not control, yet he could never seem to let them go despite the utter destruction they brought to his world. He was strong, and dedicated to his place. From the outside, you could see the delicate but certain beauty that from the inside was much too unfathomable to believe. But, if you paid attention, there was purpose and intention that mingled with care and concern. The storm, by design, is perfect, but the storm couldn’t know that.
She, not ever really expecting much of anything, wandered into the storm. They collided, and for a wondrous moment there was a spectacular display of peace in the storm.
Like any one who happens upon a storm, she was rebounded. The storm tossed her out of his reach. But she was changed. She was drawn to it, like a magnet, she felt it’s pull. In time, she would visit him again and again. She came to be close with the storm. For in the storm, she saw the beauty in the chaos. She could see that destruction birthed renewal, and that in the future there could be peace and happiness. She grew to love the storm.
Her storm was never easy. It would push her, and bend her. He would bowl her over, and make a mess of her. He would blow her in directions she never saw herself going in, and inspired her to want things she’d never dreamed of. The storm made her stronger, taught her to grow. He stretched her to new limits. Her storm, he ruined her.
But she would always love her storm, for all that he was- both beautiful and terrible, destructive and creative. And, anyway, she loves to dance in the rain.
